Why I Draw Every Day

At the beginning of the year, I told myself I was going to do something constantly for the whole year…

Draw every single day on paper, with a pencil, for a year. Not for a challenge, not for social media just for me. Lets be real I am going to post more about my drawings and I wont get mad if I get noticed for it, but that's not my goal. I want to create my style and drawing every day gives me the desire to change it up, its in my nature.

I get flavor blindness and If I feel like I have to do it, I'll find a way to make it different so it changes the taste. I want to get better at drawing, figure out more of my tattoo style, and honestly… just prove to myself that I can stick with something.

Some days, it’s easy. I sit down and I just connect with the paper. Other days, I’m so tired I can barely keep my eyes open — but I still try to draw. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s just to keep going.

I’ve definitely missed a few days here and there. I’m not gonna pretend I haven’t. but I always come back to it. That’s the part that matters to me. I could skip today, but tomorrow I’ll draw again. Because I really love it.

Since I started, I’ve seen a huge difference. My style is starting to take shape. I’ve got a notebook full of flash ideas. And I’m finding more confidence in the stuff that feels a little weird, a little off — the stuff that feels like me. I don’t draw every day because I have to. I do it because it makes me feel like myself.
